Incredibly frustrated and wont be using them again in the future. So, if you are looking for pricing estimate, the below job was $18K+ just for the inside room with the toilet and shower/tub. They did not touch the closet, or the room with the sinks/mirrors, and we chose nearly the cheapest option I believe for all items, and purchased the replacement toilet ourselves for them to install. They took down wallpaper (though the guy laughed that the humidity in the room practically made it possible to just pull by hand with no steaming or tools) and sanded the pealing paint from the ceiling, and this did not include painting as we are doing that separately. Hope that helps for those just looking for pricing. So, we agreed to the price because the sales pitch included things like "any damage caused by our work would absolutely get taken care of" (always a concern when you are touching plumbing) - which it didn't. While removing the tub, somehow there ended up being a cut/crack in our living room ceiling below the bathroom. I am fine that mistakes like that can happen. But their solution was to put on some of The Pink Stuff, and that was it. We will be responsible for sanding it, finding a white to match, and painting it ourselves. Our living room is an open space that can be seen from the front door and the kitchen. If this is not taken care of correctly, it will remain incredibly obvious and any future buyer will assume water damage that was badly repaired. Quality Craftsmen had no response for the fact that the damage was caused when brought up in two different messages. They instead focused on the second issue and ignored this one entirely. Our second issue is around a light. We originally had two switches in the bathroom space, one for a light, and one for a bad fan. During the sales pitch, we talked about making the fan a light/fan combo, and making it so that only one switch worked, and thus forcing the kids to use the fan and hopefully helping with air circulation and humidity in the room (which was a big part of why we were needing the update). We even talked about the fact that we should wait to have the room repainted, and that wall and ceiling repair would be included in the costs (one of the reasons they claimed it was so high) so painting afterwards would be easy. With them already doing ceiling repairs, that would take care of removing the light. They WERE NOT going to do electrical like removing the switch all together, it was simply to become a dead switch with no action associated with it since there would be no light. Well, that didn't happen. I still had the light, and it was still connected to the switch. The light for the fan is actually low, which is frustrating, but they pulled up 2-3 options and we chose one with good reviews. We will see if there is options on the wattage and maybe it is just a bad bulb included in it for now. Of course, when we bring up that they left the light installed and connected to the switch, it wasn't actually in the work order for it to be removed. Don't let ANY piece of conversation not make it on to that paper. You will get wrapped up in all the details of the colors for the faucet, and the indents on the fake tile backing, and not realize that things you talked about don't actually get covered, and then you are just completely out of luck. So, huge thank you to Reliable Heating and Air, who came out today after the brush off from Quality Craftsmen yesterday, that capped the light for us. Hopefully our living room ceiling repair can be taken care of by someone else as well. And to be clear, the guys (subcontractors?) that were the installers were amazing. Richie was polite, organized, and clean. They used drop cloths for their whole path through the house, they cleaned after themselves every day so there was no mess for the kids or pets to get into, and I would work with the people who actually did the work any day of the week. But the company? No.
